Overlay Art Glass, Inc. dba: SGO Designer Glass of N OC
SGO Designer Glass of N OC was started in 1981 by John & Nancy Ferguson.
We began our journey in our garage as a home based business, providing Overlay Art Glass to our clients. Stained Glass Overlay was a franchise business with new technology and materials that would change the industry of Art Glass for future years.
After 3 years working out of our home, we opened our first studio in Whittier California. We continued to grow our business as well as our product line. After lots of training & licensing, we began offering stained, leaded & beveled cut glass, etched & carved glass as well as slump glass. We also began to offer door, windows, showers, table tops, glass shelves & mirrors & Insulated Glass replacement. Art Glass repairs & restoration is our specialty.
John, a licensed glazer, (CL # 862264), does most of the installations. We do the weird stuff. Odd shaped windows, swap out installations, or we can cut a hole in a door, wall or cabinet to insert the art glass.
Our business continued to grow and in 1990 we moved into Orange County. We have had studios in both Anaheim & Yorba Linda California. We install locally and also design, build & ship Art Glass both nationally & internationally.
Over the years our business has received 29 international design awards. We not only work with residential clients, but also work with Churches & Commercial accounts. Our goal is to provide the best made Art Glass, and provide the best customer service so our client’s return for more work and refer us to their friends & family. We also work with designers, builders, & contractors.
We are family owned & operated. We are blessed to have our two daughters Cory & Bree work right alongside of us as well as long time valued employees. Their skills are awesome.
After 42 years we are returning to our roots. To combat soring material costs and lease increases, we are moving back to our Yorba Linda home to continue to produce beautiful Art Glass for our client’s while providing competitive pricing. Our hours are 9-5 Monday thru Friday. We will continue to come to you as always, but studio visits are by appointment only.
Remember, Art Glass is perfect for odd shaped windows, to control sun glare, provide privacy, and hide an ugly view, to reduce heat & UV Damage, or just give you something beautiful to look at.
